A key band of the 00s pop punk explosion, Fall Out Boys 2005 record From Under the Cork Tree was a genre-defining landmark, spawning the hits Sugar We're Going Down and Dance Dance. The group embarked on a brief hiatus 2010-2012 but returned with a bang last year with their fifth record Save Rock and Roll. It was a noticeably more pop orientated effort, featuring guest spots from rapper Big Sean and Elton John. Paramore have undergone a similar evolution. Led by the inimitable Hayley Williams, the trio from Tennessee's latest self-titled record was big on infectious pop hooks, leaving behind the angst of their earlier records.
